Hansa Green Tour organizes the Iceland Green Tour from 13th – 16th January 2019. An international networking tour for sustainability professionals that want to learn from geothermal initiatives at Iceland. Geothermal energy in Iceland is the most important sustainable source of energy. In other countries around the world geothermal energy could also play an important role in the energy transition towards more sustainable energy. What can we learn from Iceland?
To find out we will visit the Geothermal Energy Exhibition at the Hellisheidi Power Plant, one of the largest geothermal power plants that powers the largest district heating network in the world: Reykjavik. Here we will also take a look at the CarbFix project where Iceland is experimenting with capturing CO2 out of the air and turn it into rock, forever. A promising technology that could take CO2 out of the air and help to fight climate change if the technology could be called-up quick enough.
