EV Weekend Austria

EV Weekend Austria

Europe is opening its internal borders and that means we can travel again!

The weekend of 11-13 September we will organize a small scale Covid-safe EV weekend to enjoy the beautiful mountain roads in Austria.

Friday 11th September all participants drive with their own electric car to the Kaiserhof Hotel in Salzburg, a great EV mobility hotspot in Austria. Hotel owner Richard Absenger and President of the Bundesverband nachhaltige Mobilität (Austrian Sustainable Mobility), will welcome us outside at the terrace for a EV Drivers Dinner. All drivers can charge their cars at one of the many (super) chargers at the hotel so that they can be assured to start the next day with a full battery. Saturday 12th September we will drive a beautiful 400 kilometer route exploring the most beautiful mountain roads in Austria and northern Italy. From Salzburg via the Grossglockner (highest mountain in Austria) to the Timmelsjoch pass and final destination Sölden. There we will enjoy dinner outside at 2500 meters altitude with a spectacular view. Here we will test a new mobile charging station that can charge 8 electric cars simultaneously. Sunday 13th September all participants will drive home individually.

Program in short:

  • Friday 11-9: inbound individual journey to Salzburg, EV Drivers Diner and stay overnight at the Kaiserhof Hotel
  • Saturday 12-9: spectacular 400 kilometer mountain drive from Salzburg to Sölden, EV Drivers Dinner and stay overnight in Sölden
  • Sunday 13-9: individual home journey

Costs:

€ 500,- per person. A second person at the same hotel room can join for an additional € 100,-.

These costs are including 2 overnight stays in hotels (Salzburg and Sölden) and 2 x dinner (incl. drinks). Additional costs for an ‘autobahnvignet’ in Austria, toll/customs for mountain roads and drinks/food/lunch along the route are not included.

Covid-safe:

All participants drive at their own pace and with their own battery electric. Dinner in Salzburg as well as in Sölden will be outside (bring warm clothing) at a terrace where we can easily maintain enough distance. In case of bad weather conditions both locations have a large indoor space available where we can have dinner and maintain enough distance. The maximum amount of participants will be limited to 30 people.
